Viljandi, Tartu and Tallinn will be the sites for the performance of the program in which the works of Arvo Pärt and Johann Sebastian Bach will be united under the expertise hand of the conductor Tõnu Kaljuste. The focus will be on the two grand works for a choir and orchestra by the composers connected with Germany – the cantata of the great Baroque grandmaster and the missa, created by the then Berliner for his home town at the time of the German reunification. Arvo Pärt’s Prayer from Kanon Pokajanen for choir and string orchestra, a new version of the last part of Kanon pokajanen, will receive its world premiere performance on 7, 8, and 11 September.
